Source and Update Policy
A clear date and limitation are more useful than an undated compatibility claim. This policy describes how we select, review, and revise route information.
Source selection
We prefer the named facility operator, transportation authority, interoperability network, or official state program. Sources should directly support the relevant acceptance, classification, direction, plan, or operator claim.
Editorial review dates
“Last Reviewed” means an editor checked the cited or named source and the page’s scope on that date. It is not a promise that the underlying organization will not change information afterward.
What triggers an update
- A facility joins, leaves, or changes participation in an interoperability network.
- An operator or agency name changes.
- A facility changes its tolling method, direction, classification, or program language.
- A reliable correction identifies a factual or structural error.
- Construction or seasonal operations materially change the research checklist.
Status labels
Documented Acceptance means a reviewed primary source supports acceptance for a named scope. Facility-Level Review Needed means the corridor is broader than the evidence. Discount Not Established means compatibility is not evidence of a discount. Information May Have Changed flags a time-sensitive or incomplete item.
No silent certainty
When sources conflict or a facility cannot be identified, we keep the question open. We do not infer statewide coverage, transfer a program between operators, or turn an estimated rate into an official rate.
Corrections
Material corrections are reviewed against the best available primary source. We may update the affected page, its review date, limitation, or status. Send correction details through the corrections page.
